Description
Designed to provide a practical solution to the problem of daisy chaining AcceSS7TM Cardcages, without the need
for "Special Cables". The Splitter Unit takes the 16 channels (8 links) from a Card and presents them on the
"A" and "B" Connectors for onward connection. The last Unit in the chain has 133 ohm terminating
resistors across the pairs of interface "B", this Unit must be installed in the final AcceSS7TM
Cardcage. Onward Connectors are female 50 Way Amp, the AcceSS7TM connector is a male 50 Way Amp.
A range of standard 120 ohm Cables is available for onward connection to AcceSS7TM Cardcages or additional
Splitter Units.
Features and Benefits
The miniature design, each unit is only 180mm High, 65mm Deep and 24.5mm Wide, not much
wider than the standard 50 Way Amp Connector. Use one Unit to link two AcceSS7TM Cards. The built-in 133 ohm
terminating resistors provide a tried and tested method of terminating the chain, without the need for "Special Cables".
Designed to operate at 10MHz without corruption, the design was tested to 100MHz with a loss of less than 3dB.
Enables monitoring, or routing, of communication data between two operational units, without affecting the integrity of
the transmission path. The Splitter is transparent to all data protocols and software.
Installation Guidlines
These Units are suitable for installations where the network access points will be daisy-chained to more than one
AcceSS7TM Cardcage and the Cardcage contains 4 or fewer Cards. In similar circumstances with 4 or more
Cards the Tekmos Multi-Port Splitter Unit may be more suitable.
