Multi-Port Cable Splitter Unit

Multi-Port Cable Splitter Unit

Description
Designed to provide a practical and robust method of daisy chaining SS7 links to multiple AcceSS7™ Cardcages, without the need for "Special Cables". The Splitter Panel takes the 96 channels (48 links) from a Tekmos Balun Panel and presents them on the "A" and "B" output Connectors for onward connection. The last Panel in the chain has 130 ohm terminating resistors across the pairs of interface "B", this Panel must be located within 1 metre of the final AcceSS7™ Cardcage. Connectors are female 50 Way Amp, standard 120 ohm Cables are available for connection to AcceSS7™ Cardcages or additional Splitter Panels.

Features and Benefits
The standard 19" rack modular design, 4U (7-inch) height and 40mm depth allows a building block approach to installations, use one Panel to link two fully populated AcceSS7™ Cardcages. The built-in 130 ohm terminating resistors provide a tried and tested method of terminating the chain, without the need for "Special Cables". Designed to operate at 10MHz without corruption, the design was tested to two operational units, without affecting the integrity of the transmission path. The Splitter is transparent to all data protocols and software. A passive unit which does not require power.

Installation Guidlines
These Panels are suitable for installations where the network access points will be daisy-chained to more than one AcceSS7™ Cardcage and the Cardcage contains 4 or more Cards. In similar circumstances with 4 or fewer Cards the Tekmos Single Port Splitter Unit would be more suitable.
