Equipment manufacturers increasingly provide switchable impedance options on their interface ports, allowing switching between 120 and 75 ohm's depending on the type of network.

This removes the need for balun transformers in the circuit. However, it does not remove the need to transform the interface from coaxial to twisted pair and vice versa. Installers and system integrators still face the obstacle of overcoming this transition in a robust and well managed manner.
